Welcome to our monthly series Meet the Team, where we spotlight the extraordinary people that make Bayley & Sage so special. This month’s feature is on Vineta, one of our amazing Area Managers. Read the full interview with Vineta below.
1. How long have you been working at Bayley & Sage and what different roles have you held within the company? What is your role now?
I first started at Bayley & Sage in December 2009 as a team member. I have been a shift leader, a floater and the manager of the Wimbledon store. More recently I have worked as an Operations Controller, and last July I was promoted to Area Manager.
2. What’s your favourite thing about working at Bayley & Sage?
Definitely the people! I absolutely enjoy working with everyone, I like getting to know people, I like to understand them and motivate them if and when I can.
3. Who has inspired you the most throughout your career?
I have found inspiration in literature – there is so much information out there on anything career related.
4. Have you always worked in this industry? If not, what other types of roles have you held?
Yes, although before moving to the UK I worked in wholesale.
5. What’s the best advice you could give someone who’s just starting out in their career?
Set high standards for yourself and those around you, work hard, do your absolute best at all times and you will succeed.
6. What are some of the accomplishments you’re most proud of?
Definitely my two children – I am very proud of them. It’s the best, watching them as they learn life skills and gain understanding of life in general.
7. What are you most looking forward to this year, both personally and professionally?
Personally – a nice holiday with my family. Professionally – I’m always looking forward to a challenge 😉
8. If you could only eat one thing from Bayley & Sage for the rest of your life, what would you choose?
Could I choose two things? Almond croissant and a good steak!
9. How do you spend your time when you’re not at Bayley & Sage?
I spend almost all my free time with my family. I try to squeeze in some “me” time – this is something I need to improve on. And I read every evening.
10. What’s one interesting fact that we might not know about you?
I can draw really well!
