Persian Kitchen is a London-based, award-winning food company celebrating the rich and generous flavours of Iran and the wider Middle East. Specialising in small-batch dips, ice creams, and cakes, the brand draws inspiration from authentic family recipes passed down through generations, bringing traditional Persian tastes to a wider audience.

Origins and Inspiration

The idea for Persian Kitchen grew from a childhood rooted in a blend of English and Iranian cultures. Raised in Hertfordshire by a half-English, half-Iranian family, Chardee (the founder) developed a deep love for sharing Persian heritage through food, viewing it as a universal language of love and connection. Despite Persian cuisine’s rising popularity in London’s restaurants, it remains underrepresented in supermarkets and delis. Motivated by frustration at the limited authentic and fresh Middle Eastern options available, especially Persian dishes, Chardee left a career in consulting to launch Persian Kitchen at local farmers markets, where it quickly gained momentum.

All recipes at Persian Kitchen are deeply anchored in tradition. They are inspired by dishes lovingly prepared by Chardee’s grandmother and aunties, rich with fresh ingredients and soul. Extensive travels across Iran further enriched the culinary knowledge behind the brand, ensuring authenticity in every product. Years of cooking and baking experience have allowed for refinement of these recipes, with an emphasis on balancing bold flavours and freshness. Standout examples include coal-roasted aubergine with punchy garlic and creamy yoghurt paired with naturally sweet British pink beetroot.

Persian Kitchen is dedicated to using only honest, real ingredients, free from artificial preservatives, colours, or flavourings. Its dips contain no seed oils, focusing instead on the best British produce sourced through a rigorous and sustainable supply chain. Finding suppliers for fresh produce like aubergines grown near Chardee’s childhood home in Hertfordshire reflects the brand’s commitment to locality and sustainability.

Persian Kitchen’s dips offer versatility and complement many of our B&S products. The smokey aubergine and tomato dip, traditionally served warm, can be gently simmered with eggs and topped with crumbled feta and fresh herbs for a tasty shakshuka-inspired dish.
