Weekend Wine: Howard’s Folly

Welcome to Weekend Wine, our new Friday series! During the month of August, every Friday we’ll be featuring a different rosé from our newly expanded rosé line. Today’s wine is the delightful Sonhador 2022 rosé from Howard’s Folly.

Hailing from Portugal, this rosé features a refreshing and complex aroma, with ripe wild forest fruits, raspberry jelly and a touch of vanilla spice. Howard’s Folly sources fruit from the region of Portalegre, in North-East Alentejo. The cooler temperatures, high altitude sites and mineral soils where old vines have thrived for nearly a century, produce wines of great complexity and freshness.

The palate shows mature and intense red berry fruits with good body and texture, vibrant acidity adding to a long and profound finish. The acidity gives it a moreish finish, making for an incredibly versatile wine that goes great with food. Pair this rosé with seafood, white meat and salads.
