Weekend Wine: Pinot Noir Rosé

Welcome to the last instalment of Weekend Wine, our weekly Friday series! During the month of August, every Friday we’ve featured a different rosé from our newly expanded rosé line. Our final wine is the tasty Pinot Noir Rosé from Bodega Garzón.

Bodega Garzón is a family-owned winery in Maldonado on the Atlantic coast of southern Uruguay. They brought viticulture in this area over 10 years ago, and have since become the go-to destination for premium wines from Uruguay. In November 2018, their pioneering status was recognised by Wine Enthusiast with the ‘New World Winery of the Year’ award.

The winery is designed to operate as sustainably as possible and in 2019 made history as the first winery in the world to earn LEED certification for its entire facility (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design). Built on natural terraces, they use cutting edge technology and a unique gravity flow system to ensure quality and energy efficiency at every stage of production. All of the wines are fermented and aged for up to six months in temperature-controlled, stainless steel tanks in order to preserve freshness.

A delicate pale salmon colour, this Pinot Noir Rosé from Uruguay is elegant and expressive. Its intense aroma is reminiscent of fresh strawberries and blackberries. Crisp, with a distinct minerality and balanced acidity. You’ll find lovely notes of cherry that weave throughout and continue in the aromatics.

Stop by Bayley & Sage and pick up a bottle for the weekend! And don’t forget your rosé loyalty card, you’ll get a free 75cl bottle of Bayley & Sage 2021 vintage rosé when you collect 10 stamps (valid through 30th September)!
