It started with a love of great food
Jennie Allen founded Bayley & Sage in the autumn of 1997, opening the doors of our first store in Wimbledon Village.
She firmly believes that great food shouldn’t only be enjoyed on sunny days abroad or saved for special occasions. Her ambition was to bring delicious food from artisanal producers to her local community.
What’s in a name?
People often ask where the name came from.
Bayley was the son of a friend of Jennie’s, chosen as an homage to the next generation. Sage refers both to the herb and to wisdom.
And so, Bayley & Sage was born.
