Weekend Wine: H&B Organic Rosé

18 August 2023

Welcome to Weekend Wine, our new Friday series! During the month of August, every Friday we’ll be featuring a different rosé from our newly expanded rosé line. Today’s wine is the delightful organic rosé from Hecht & Bannier.

For this tasty organic rosé, fruit is selected on the cooler parts of the upper Provence vineyards where the oak and olive tree forests protect the vines planted in the clay-limestone soils and, in some ways, seem to nourish them. The higher altitude allows for a full maturity without the excessive sugars. The blend is completed with grapes from the limestone foothills that add some minerality and Cinsault, from vineyards close to the Mediterranean Sea, which bring a subtle, salty and anise expression. The vines are then harvested at night between 3am and 9am in order to avoid oxidation.

The tasting notes are of immense charm and minerality, with hints of fennel, anise and purple flowers. We love just sipping this wine on its own outside in the sunshine! But you could also grab a glass with some friends and pair it with olives, salads and seafood for a lovely al fresco summer meal.

Stop by Bayley & Sage and pick up a bottle for the weekend! And don’t forget your rosé loyalty card, you’ll get a free 75cl bottle of Bayley & Sage 2021 vintage rosé when you collect 10 stamps (valid through 30th September)!
